Karen has been selected by Apimondia, the world’s federation of beekeeping associations, to present the work of Fiji’s Value-added Bee Products team at the upcoming World Beekeeping Congress in Chile in September.
This presentation can inspire other countries with a good model for increasing women’s participation in beekeeping, and help beekeepers obtain more income from their bees.

The presentation is also a good opportunity to give credit to those organizations that contributed to the effort, including ACIAR/Bees for Sustainable Livelihoods, U.S. Embassy and FBA, as well as the hard work of Karen Mills, Anneliese Austin, Cooper Schouten, Jean Tikaram, and myself.
We are seeking a sponsor
Karen’s trip to Chile is expensive: Airfare, hotel, and on-the-ground expenses will be approximately $8,500 FJ.
We are seeking a sponsor – development NGO, corporation, and/or another angel to pay for this trip.
Sponsor must be confirmed by July 2.
The sponsor will be recognized in the oral presentation and written document. Contact Karen Mills directly if you can help.
